Independent Filmmaking and Digital Convergence, offers a comprehensive analysis of the technological changes in independent film and media-making over the past decade and explores new strategic practices in media production, exhibition, and distribution for independent producers and content creators. The book examines how independent filmmaking concepts have merged with digital and online technologies to new hybrid multi-platform content creations.

BIO
Vladan Nikolic is a filmmaker and producer who has written, directed and produced numerous feature films, documentaries, TV and multi-platform media projects. His films have been distributed in the US and internationally and were awarded at various film festivals, including Tribeca, Venice, San Francisco, Barcelona and Geneva, Switzerland. Vladan was among the digital filmmaking pioneers in the 1990’s, and subsequently produced and directed one of the first transmedia feature films, Zenith (2010), which combined releases and story expansions over multiple media platforms. He has lectured and led workshops and seminars at various universities and professional institutions in the US and internationally; he is associate professor of media studies and film at The New School in New York City.
